Special Projects Lead
- On-site
- New York, New York, United States
Job description
ABOUT ROLR
ROLR is building a prediction markets platform delivering the frontier of trading on sports, culture, economics, AI, commodities, and geopolitics. You'll be on a nimble startup-like team within a public company. A large volume of time-sensitive, external-facing, cross-departmental projects that drive value across Product, Brand, Community, and Investor Relations can go unexecuted because of their complexity and time commitment. We're looking for an exceptional generalist who works across brand, marketing, community, social, and events. You're familiar with leveraging AI workflows to take projects end to end, and you have the emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to work across departments to get the job done. You're resourceful, a fast learner, and comfortable taking ownership.
Role Overview
We're looking for a Special Projects Lead: an operational growth generalist with a creative marketing, design, and product background. You'll be AI-native, able to create brand assets, ship updates to marketing surfaces, and build simple app features that drive social and community loops. You'll take cross-departmental projects from ideation to pitching the business case, securing budget, and execution, either independently or by coordinating across departments.
As we build out our marketing and community functions, this role will take ownership of projects that sit between established functions or would otherwise consume significant senior leadership time.
This is a senior individual-contributor role with leadership-level exposure. You'll report to the Chief Product Officer with a dotted line to the Chief Marketing Officer, working closely with Brand Marketing, Design, Product, and Engineering leaders.
The boundary with our Social Media Manager is clear: they own the channels, editorial calendar, and daily content. You'll own time-boxed campaigns, community programs, events, and other cross-functional projects, feeding relevant launch content through the social calendar.
Example Projects
Develop digital community loyalty programs involving new product features, content, community leadership, and brand initiatives
Deliver creative marketing activations involving brand and design, event planning, in-app activation, email/SMS, social and traditional media
Coordinate ROLR's presence at industry conferences, including brand, product, community, or investor activations and events
Manage affiliates and emerging community members to support brand awareness, user acquisition, engagement, and rewards
Support projects such as refreshing and rebuilding the Investor Relations site in partnership with the relevant internal teams
Deliver merchandise initiatives from creative direction and vendor selection through production, quality review, and distribution
Key Responsibilities
Own cross-departmental projects end to end: scope, plan, coordinate the teams involved, and deliver
Execute brand and marketing operations, including activations, events, conference presence, merchandise production, and site refreshes, with Design and Brand owning creative direction
Stand up and run community programs across Discord, Reddit, and other relevant channels, and represent ROLR credibly in trading and prediction markets conversations
Plan and run real-world programs, including launch moments, trader meetups, activations, and partner events
Support external-facing product work, such as community flows and features built into the product
Support executive workstreams with research, analysis, and preparation of decks and briefs
Build prototypes, internal tools, and lightweight product experiences where a project calls for it
Create a feedback loop between the community and Product, Growth, and Marketing
Operate with the judgment required of a regulated financial technology company
Job requirements
You’ll need to:
Have 2+ years of experience shipping work across at least two of: marketing operations, design, product, content, community, or events
Have created and published content under both a personal brand and an organizational voice, with an audience or engagement track record to demonstrate success
Have a portfolio of projects you have taken end to end, such as launches, events, marketing campaigns, brand initiatives, or marketing asset design
Have a creative, product, or design background, ideally with generalist experience across multiple areas and the operational discipline to execute across timelines, vendors, budgets, and delivery
Be comfortable pitching creative activations, community programs, and in-product features with budgets, plans, target KPIs, opportunity costs, and a clear business case
Take ownership of projects that don't go as planned, including running postmortems and documenting learnings to improve future execution
Have working ability to code and ship using AI-assisted workflows
Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Be high-agency, fast, and comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
Be based in New York, or willing to relocate to New York for the role, with willingness to travel for conferences
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with consumer fintech, trading, crypto culture, and communities
Demonstrated ability to build audiences or communities, digitally or physically
AI-native workflows across coding, design, and content production
Digital or physical activation or event production experience
Early-stage startup or founder experience, or other experience demonstrating high agency
What We Offer
Base salary range: $125,000–$175,000 per year. Offers will be positioned within the range based on experience and qualifications
